The new “Warren Integrated Studies Hub” is a signature building combining Science, D+T, Art, ICT, Agriculture and Maths into a single facility. The curved, split level design centres around a central collaboration landscape allowing for cross disciple learning allowing students to interact with one another through the co-location of labs, workshops, classrooms and breakout spaces.

Strong visual links with nature, and the use of natural materials creates spaces designed to allow students to remain in touch with the outside world. Sustainability is also central to the design to benefit both the environment and student learning. The new facility is designed as a building not just to learn in, but to learn from.

A key objective of the project is to create a “living laboratory” — a precinct where students can engage with environmental sustainability as part of their learning experience. The circular building design and split-level layout provide strong visual connections between spaces, encouraging positive social interactions and enhancing student supervision.

The building incorporates passive environmental sustainability principles to reduce energy consumption. The structural portal frame system, which eliminates the need for structural walls, ensures a robust and adaptable design, future-proofing the building by allowing flexibility in classroom sizes and spatial organisation.

The Warren Integrated Studies Hub combines multiple disciplines in a collaborative, split level design that promotes cross-disciplinary learning. The project fosters lifelong learning and develops soft skills like leadership and collaboration through its flexible, innovative environment.
