It’s quite a family. Most of us who have been here for a while started as students. I started in first year uni. We’ve been brought up with the practice.

Fulton Trotter Architects has its origins as a Queensland-based architectural practice with our Brisbane Office first established in the 1940’s. Charles Fulton was a well-known Queensland architect who established the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) School of Architecture and was its Principal for thirty-nine years. Since its inception our practice has established its credentials in the areas of domestic architecture, service and sporting clubs, schools, universities, civic facilities, commercial, industrial and aged care projects. We are a family practice with our third generation of Directors now managing the practice.
Steve Trotter’s second son Mark established and successfully managed the Tweed Heads Office of Fulton Gilmour Trotter Moss from 1982 to 1996. With Steve’s support, Mark grew the Tweed Office to a sizeable practice of 16 staff and the late 80s and early 90s work was recognised for its quality in both the press and awards processes.
In 1998 we commenced practice in Sydney in a joint venture with Carthey Project Strategies, as Fulton Trotter Carthey, being appointed for health and school projects. Greg Isaac who had worked in the Brisbane office since 1987 moved to Sydney to represent our firm in the joint venture. Mark Trotter was the partner in charge of this new venture.
Brisbane celebrates 65 years in 2011, Tweed following on 30 years in 2012 & Sydney 15 years in 2013.
Over our 65 years history, we have worked with hundreds of staff and clients throughout Queensland and New South Wales. These people represent beautiful architecture and are key to Fulton Trotter Architects’ history today.
Our strategic goals are to provide design excellence, quality service, be rewarded for our efforts and enjoy our work. We also aim to continually exceed our Client’s expectations.
